As an aRtiste`/PhilosopheR, do I covet doing my blogs for robots, or for people? When the birds, what’s left of their existences, are singing, do I relate to you “shoot those” or do I suggest “we all need health-Medicare” since 1961? That of course means very hard now, to “shelter in place w.o. a fidelus of impunity correlates to deep-State” and you are not speaking-out enough for democRacy-Sakes and your health-Sakes. When I suggest to you “we need Insects indoors” dio I mean in your oRganic-Soup dish” or outside in non-Geoenginnered atmosphere w.o. chemicals? When I state the stat on pRopaganda has been nucleaRism since 1945 do I mean buy uranium-238 and keep that in your ’pocket’? I sure as fookeringville-Heck do not mean that! Is the coRonaviRus ood for you or good for the moon? Neither bought-Holds. If I say that Sen BeRnie SandeRs ought be for you, do I mean as a dEms: one-party, parody subsequence or as a theoretical-Socialist, coalition-Member of 4-5-6 others? “So many factors are so far past the breaking point. How can we know the true extent of what is unfolding around the world? For so many, the paradigm they have always known has been completely overturned at blinding speed. Will the gravity and immediacy of the challenges we face begin to become apparent to a higher percentage of the population? Can we still make a difference if we collectively join the effort to fully expose the insanity? We must alter our current course over the edge of the abyss, time is not on our side. Eyes wide open, the latest installment of Global Alert News is below.

For so many, the reality they now face is already beyond what they previously thought possible. If there is a silver lining in the unfolding and accelerating societal unraveling, an awakening is occurring. All are needed in the critical battle to wake populations to what is coming, we must make every day count. Share credible data from a credible source, make your voice heard.   DW

For those that have not yet seen our recent post on “The Dimming”, it is a groundbreaking documentary that is currently in production. This documentary film will provide answers and proof of the ongoing climate engineering / weather warfare operations. Below is a 4+ minute trailer on the upcoming film.”[1]

Is geoengineering a bigger-Paradox than “the nuclear-Molecular: propaganda”? Who does not associate to care, who cares? When I stated many times, that I pRotested against “nucleaRism” was that for 57-months, or 57 years accumulated? When science-fiction movies are all about “zombies being moleculaRe blood-thiRsty” and you folks do not opine to know words and definitions, I do seek words such as “too-Resplendently: aRcane” to attune the Bourgeoisie-Image your muddled-Class hype, projects in our society. Rather than “empiRe’s-Invasions” why not classic-Computers: usages rather than cel-Phones ease and fast-Products of hype, too! That there is the intonation of our need for “space-Time: existentialist” to have a collective-spiritus, as well as Universality, w.i. the we-People as to what our-Collective: defense is, not what the deep-State designates as illegal-Invasions for killing, foe making millions-People into Refugees? “In regard to difficult to accept and unpleasant truths, a picture is worth a thousand words. The photo images shown below were captured from NASA satellite sources, they are truly alarming. These images provide shocking and undeniable proof of the ongoing global climate engineering/geoengineering/solar radiation management assault on our planet and its life support systems. Highly toxic heavy metals and chemicals that are systematically sprayed into our atmosphere from jet aircraft as part of the geoengineering / solar radiation management (SRM) programs, are manipulated with extremely powerful radio frequency signals. These signals are transmitted from countless locations around the globe from various types of transmission platforms (ionosphere heater installations like HAARP, SBX radar, NEXRAD, etc.). The impact of the microwave transmissions on cloud formations is profound and highly visible (square cloud formations are created under some scenarios).

In the series of NASA satellite images below, many variances of radio frequency cloud impacts can be observed. The degree to which the ongoing climate engineering/climate/intervention/weather warfare is disrupting Earth’s atmosphere and life support systems is already beyond catastrophic and rapidly escalating all over the globe.

Hurricane suppression/manipulation is one aspect/agenda of the climate engineers. 85% of the hurricanes that impact the US originate from Africa. Low pressure systems migrate toward the west, off of Africa’s coast. A great deal of climate engineering/intervention takes place in this region, thus a number of the satellite images shown in this post were captured there. In the attempt to mask the climate intervention activity, the cyclone suppression occurring off the coast of Africa is officially blamed on “dust”. Of course there is no acknowledgement of the ongoing climate engineering atrocities. The quote below is an excerpt from a FOX news article.

Right now, much of the Gulf of Mexico and parts of the Caribbean have slightly warmer than normal ocean temperatures which would normally aid in tropical development. But there is so much dust and dry air in the atmosphere that storms are getting choked off before they even get started.

Though some may feel that cyclone suppression is beneficial, such interference with Earth’s natural rhythms and systems has a long list of catastrophic downstream effects. Available data indicates that in other scenarios the climate engineers are actually augmenting and steering cyclones to serve their own agenda. “Hurricane Matthew” may be an example of weather warfare on an unimaginable scale. Is hurricane Matthew being heavily manipulated and steered by the climate engineers? The evidence continues to stack up. Below is a satellite photo clearly showing atmospheric “waves” surrounding hurricane Matthew. SpaceWeather.com has labeled these as “gravity waves”, but is that what these visible “waves” actually are? No. The satellite photos already shown in this post inarguably reveal heavy atmospheric manipulation from extremely powerful radio frequency/microwave transmissions and atmospheric aerosols. These transmissions leave a signature pattern on high level cloud formations that are saturated with electrically conductive heavy metal nanoparticles which are dispersed from jet aircraft as part of the ongoing climate engineering insanity.

The global power structure long ago made the choice to subject our planet (and the entire web of life that it supports, including the human race) to an unimaginably massive and destructive climate intervention/weather warfare assault. This decision was made without the knowledge or consent of global populations. If we stand by and allow the decimation from the climate engineering insanity to continue, very soon Earth’s life support systems will be beyond any recovery. This is not speculation, but a mathematical certainty. Help us with the most critical battle to expose and halt the climate intervention/weather warfare assault, all of us are needed in this fight. Sharing credible data from a credible source is key, make your voice heard. DW”[2]

“Here’s a question for you: How do you know when you’re at war?

When there are troops on the streets? When mass panic hits? When there’s martial law and the public is told to batten down the hatches for a months-long or years-long siege? When world “leaders” tell their populations that the enemy is to blame for all the carnage?

If these are the criteria, then that means we’re at war right now.

Troops on the streets? Check.

Mass panic? Check.

Martial law and the public being told to batten down the hatches? Check and check.

World leaders telling their populations that the enemy is to blame for all the carnage? Check and check.

Yes, by all of those metrics, we’re at war. But no one is calling it war. Why not? Because, in the minds of the public, there really is only one metric for judging our war status: whether troops are in the battlefield shooting at each other. Surely that’s war, right?

But then, why is Merkel invoking World War II in her attempt to explain the current crisis to the German people? Why are we being told that the times we are living through are worse than war? Why is misleader after misleader, from Trump to Trudeau to seemingly everyone else, invoking old wartime emergency measures and preparing for full-scale martial law?

Still not enough to convince you that the world is now at war? Well then why did Donald Trump declare war on coronavirus and anoint himself a “war-time president“? Why did Macron look steely-eyed into the cameras and pronounce “nous sommes en guerre“? Why are Boris Johnson, Moon Jae-in, and seemingly every other so-called “leader” in the world piling on in their declarations of war?

The truth is that the world is at war now. And that war is World War III. The difference is that no one (as yet) understands the nature of this war, who its combatants are, and what the objective of those waging it really is.

I know you’re incredulous, so allow me to explain. . . .”[3]

So chemicalizationing is not “yet-Mentioned” but d-F world-War against not having flies-moths ,bumble-Bees is best called a usurpable word: war-3. “JEFFREY SACHS: Amy, thank you for your comprehensive coverage. Thanks, Juan. It’s terrifying, this pandemic, which is spreading all over the world, as you’ve so comprehensively reported. And it’s doubly terrifying that we have a complete nitwit as president, who understands nothing, listens to nothing, judges nothing, except by the stock market, and is endangering the American people. So, it’s just hard to believe what a colossal mess our country is in, not only a virus to which the world population is immunologically naive — in other words, one that can spread wild and rapidly everywhere because there isn’t acquired immunity, there isn’t experience with this virus — but a president who is certainly the most incompetent president in the history of our country, who not only has personal incompetence but is completely unable to bring together and listen to qualified people, like Dr. Fauci and others, who should be helping to control this pandemic. Instead, we have one ignoramus after another, without guidance, without strategy, so every mayor and governor in this country is on the frontlines without federal support. And Congress, it’s just bewildering. There should have been money available immediately to the states and cities for every emergency step to actually fight the pandemic. Instead, they’re talking about the airline industry. They’re talking about which bailouts of which sectors, instead of fighting the spread of the virus.

You noted at the top of the show a remarkable fact, which is probably the most pertinent fact for all of us to focus on. In China, at the very epicenter of this crisis at the start, Hubei province, China battled this virus under control and is now lifting the lockdown measures after about two months. That is the result of rigorous containment policies, tough but also comprehensive testing, contact tracing, isolation of people with symptoms, and they’ve tracked hundreds and hundreds of thousands of cases. They have been able to stop the spread of the pandemic. And China is not alone in that. It is a kind of East Asian model. Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, to a large extent, have all used public health means to bring the spread of the virus under control.

This is what our focus should be in the United States right now — stop the spread of the virus, protect the frontline health workers, contain the pandemic, help people who are in a desperate situation to get by. There’s not a lot of consumption to do right now other than our food and our basic provisioning. And, of course, nobody being evicted or losing shelter or otherwise losing the means for their survival right now. We’re not out partying. We don’t need large money for entertainment. We don’t need large money for travel, to say the least. We need survival mode.

But what the East Asian experience shows is that if you are aggressive in the public health response, the lockdown isn’t for months and years; the lockdown is 60 or 90 days, depending on how well things are done. And then it’s possible to start going back to some kind of normalcy, with care, but then with a greatly expanded public health effort in place, which the U.S. didn’t have at the start of this epidemic, which Trump, in his idiocy, disdained. The man knows nothing. We should understand this. We need expertise right now. We lost the vital weeks. Now we need to build that capacity, so that after 60 or 90 days, we can start to lift the siege. And there’s plenty of experience now of how to do this, if we would only look, learn and act.

JUAN GONZÁLEZ: Jeffrey Sachs, I wanted to ask you — in terms of the actions in Congress right now, you mentioned you were critical of the failure of Congress to act. But isn’t part of the problem here that rather than, as you say, deal with appropriations that would help people stay in place and not fall further and further behind financially, the Senate has tried this huge package, which obviously involves so much negotiations back and forth between the Democrats and the House and the Senate, that it makes it far more difficult than, for instance, just to pass 90 days of full-pay unemployment benefits for workers right now, while they figure out the other aspects of what to do with businesses? This attempt to create the largest spending bill ever conceived in Congress all in one fell swoop like this, is this going to just bog things down further?

JEFFREY SACHS: Juan, you’re completely right. The focus should be seriously on stopping the spread of the disease, keeping people protected, helping the health workers, and especially helping the mayors and the governors around this country who are on the frontline. There should have been immediately an emergency $100 billion, $200 billion for the governors and the mayors to quickly be able to get financial flows so that they can hire emergency social support, they can take whatever measures are available given the supply constraints for the hospitals, for requisitioning safe space, for enabling there to be a viable and civilized shutdown so that people who are in isolation can survive this period. That’s the first order of priority. It should have been one day to recognize this. It should be supervised, if we had a functioning CDC, the Centers for Disease Control, by CDC, by NIH, by the National Academies of Science, National Academy of Medicine. We could have improvised a kind of supervision, not the dolt of a president who says, “I am the one responsible.” My god, it’s shocking, with all the expertise in this country. But Congress went off on some kind of a mind-boggling economic excursion of $2 trillion rather than focusing on the epidemic. They just don’t understand what’s actually happening.

They should be listening to the mayors and the governors, because those are the political leaders truly dealing on the frontlines. And they should be helping those on the frontlines to keep the health workers alive, to get the social support and to help people to stay home, to shelter in place, and to break the transmission and to stay safe personally. Those are the points of the shelter in place — stay safe individually and end this transmission — because this transmission, if everybody that now has symptoms and is infected could be kept sheltered in place in some kind of isolation, given, of course, hospitalization as needed, the epidemic then goes away. Most people recover normally. Some are hospitalized. Tragically, some will die. But the epidemic does not spread then. This should be the order of business for the U.S. And if it is a bit abstract, all one has to look to, the countries that are actually succeeding in doing this, to get some lessons, because there are several, as I’ve mentioned.

JUAN GONZÁLEZ…what they never model are precisely these periods of complete qualitative change in society, when something completely unexpected happens. And the system is not prepared to deal with it, so now you have all of these companies going to the White House demanding help, because they never planned for possible crises of this type in their modelings and in their plans for the future…  the health system is more concentrated on curing disease rather than preventing or public health portions of the health system…

JEFFREY SACHS: Juan, absolutely right. Our health system is focused not even first and foremost on curing disease; it’s focused first and foremost on making money. We have drugs that could stop many other epidemics now, like hepatitis C, that don’t do so, because they are priced hundreds of times more than their production costs because of the unbelievably broken system we have to give monopoly power to powerful companies, who then use their unbelievable profits, in part, to buy the Congress. So, the corruption of our political system has driven so much attention to the wrong things, away from our well-being and now even away from our survival.”[4]

“PETER KORNBLUH: Well, Amy, you know, the arrival of a medical brigade from Cuba to Italy is pretty historic. You have a leading European nation accepting support in the form of a medical team from a small Caribbean island. And it just goes to the history of Cuba’s deep and long-lasting commitment to humanitarian solidarity with other countries. And Cuba has done this before. They were on the frontlines of the fight against Ebola in Africa. They received the utmost compliments from our U.N. ambassador, Samantha Power, at the time. As she pointed out, that’s an awesome thing for a country of 11 million people to be sending doctors to Africa to fight Ebola. And it’s a similarly awesome thing for Cuba to be sending doctors to Italy as part of a worldwide effort, really, to fight this pandemic.

Cuba faces the spread of the virus on the island now. They’ve only had one reported death so far, but more than a thousand people are under observation, and more than 40 cases have been confirmed. Hopefully, the closing of the borders, or, as the Cuban officials say, the regulation of their borders, keeping nonresidents and tourists out for at least a month, if not longer, will kind of stem the spread of the virus, which of course has come from abroad. And Cuba’s resources are going to be extremely strained in this situation, and in part because the Trump administration has, over these last months, levied these sanctions against Cuba, ostensibly to push it away from Venezuela, but it’s part of a regime change program in Venezuela and in Cuba that the Trump administration is running.

And I think one of the key points here for all of us to consider is, we really have met the common enemy of humanity, and it’s not communism, and it’s not socialism, and it’s not what it’s been. It’s an invisible disease. And Cuba actually has a significant contribution to make in terms of trained medical staff, in terms of the medicines you refer to, the Interferon Alpha 2B, that they’ve developed over the years, that is useful in fighting viruses like this one. And this is an expertise that the world needs and that the United States could benefit from. So the whole issue of continuing to sanction Cuba and making it more difficult for them to fight the virus at home and contribute to fighting the virus abroad doesn’t make any sense at all\…”[5]

“RT France: But Michel Onfray, is it really Emmanuel Macron’s fault? Because clearly it seems that the problem lies in the lack of tests and available masks; we just did not have the means for such a policy. Isn’t it a policy that should have been thought of and foreseen way before?

Onfray: Of course. But you know that Macron was in Hollande’s government, that Hollande gets along with Sarkozy, that Sarkozy got along with Chirac, and that eventually Chirac got along with Mitterrand. In other words: since the departure of de Gaulle in 1969, there has only been one policy in France. It is the policy of liberalism, it is a policy which gives power to the market; the gift package is in itself not so important. There’s some vaguely left-wing politicians, some vaguely right-wing politicians, but they are Maastrichtian liberals. I am talking about the global policy of all those people.

So here, of course, Macron is not responsible for all this, but he is responsible for following this line. And because of this line, there are no masks – and this is why he says that masks are useless. He does not have any tests, and this is why he says that tests are useless… whereas he should really say that there are no masks because of France’s incapacity as part of Europe; that there are no tests because of France’s incapacity as part of a federal Europe which itself aims to create a global state where the capital reigns supreme. As nobody is interested in geopolitics, geostrategy, or even politics anymore… well, we discover that the king is naked and that, when there’s a pandemic situation, liberalism can’t rule, because old things come back: The sovereignism, borders that need to be closed, the sovereign state, the ability of the head of state to choose, the power of the police and the military… It’s fantastic. I’ve been saying for twenty years that those things are essential. Because of the situation, sovereign ideals are coming back in style.

RT France: The first round of local elections took place, and the quarantine was implemented late even though we already had the means to do so… How do you interpret that? Was it to avoid some costs, or it was all simply an underestimation of the danger?

Onfray: I think that Emmanuel Macron’s youth and his innocence (in the etymological sense of the word) explain that. He is not a statesman. He was put where he is by the deep state: journalists, economists, tax experts, the world of finance… He is just a straw man. He doesn’t know anything but the liberal mindset, and eventually he doesn’t know what to choose. What does ‘political’ mean? We can go back to Carl Schmitt and others: it is the art of taking decisions. We can go back to de Gaulle’s ‘Edge of the Sword’: the leader must be able to choose what needs to be done, which direction should be taken.”[6]

“What are interferons

Interferons are proteins that are part of our body’s natural defence systems, and draw their name from the word ‘interfere’’ because they interfere with viruses and prevent them from multiplying. According to WebMD, there are three types of interferons. Cells that have been infected with viruses or other germs give off interferon-alpha and interferon-beta as a warning signal to your immune system. That triggers immune cells called white blood cells to release interferon-gamma to fight the germs.

Interferon drugs are man-made versions of the proteins that the human body creates. The drugs equip the body to tackle viruses, preventing them from multiplying in the body. Interferon drugs first emerged for cancer therapy. Interferons have also been used in the treatment of HIV and AIDS.

Cuba manufactured its first interferon in 1981 and was used in the treatment of the haemorrhagic dengue epidemic in Cuba the same year. The country later manufactured ‘recombinant’ human interferon Alfa-2B in 1986.

Three months into the pandemic, it is still unclear which drug can successfully combat the disease. While studies are on, and different countries try various combinations to treat its patients, the WHO recently launched a multicountry clinical trial to test four drug combinations that have yielded results – experimental antiviral drug called remdesivir, the antimalarial drug chloroquine (or the related hydroxychloroquine), a combination of two HIV drugs, and those same two HIV drugs along with the anti-inflammatory interferon beta.”[7]

The drug, called Interferon Alpha-2B Recombinant (IFNrec), is jointly developed by scientists from Cuba and China, where the coronavirus COVID-19 disease outbreak first emerged late last year. Already active in China since January, the Cuban Medical Brigades began deploying to dozens of nations, providing personnel and products such as its new anti-viral drug to battle the disease that has exceeded 400,000 confirmed cases across the globe. As of Tuesday, over 100,000 people have recovered from the infection and more than 18,000 have died.”[8]

“On March 24th, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe proposed a one-year postponement of the Tokyo Olympics, following talks with IOC president, Thomas Bach.

Thus, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will take place in 2021.

Abe said they had established that cancelling the Games was out of the question, and that Bach had agreed “100%” that a postponement was the most appropriate response to the global disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

“We agreed that a postponement would be the best way to ensure that the athletes are in peak condition when they compete and to guarantee the safety of the spectators,” Abe told reporters, following the conversation.

On the previous day, Abe said that postponement was unavoidable if the 2020 Games couldn’t be held in a complete manner amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Until just a few days ago the IOC, along with the Tokyo organising committee and the Japanese government, had insisted there were no plans to delay the Olympics given they were not due to open for another four months.

The decision was sealed when both Canada and Australia announced that they would not send their athletes to Japan if the games took place.

“I know this is heartbreaking for so many people, athletes, coaches, staff and fans but this was absolutely the right call and everyone should follow their lead,” the Canadian prime minister, Justin Trudeau, said.

“Our most important conclusion from this broad athlete response is that even if the current significant health concerns could be alleviated by late summer, the enormous disruptions to the training environment, doping controls and qualification process can’t be overcome in a satisfactory manner,” the US Olympic and Paralympic committee said in a statement.

Lawrence Waterman, who headed Health and Safety for the 2012 Olympics in London, urged the IOC to postpone the Games for the first time in their 124-year modern history. The reasoning was that they couldn’t be held safely.

“These Games need to be postponed, and the sooner the IOC and the Japanese government face up to this the better. It’s simply not safe to put the games on during a global pandemic,” Waterman said in a statement.

“People’s safety and health should come before the costs of delaying contracts. The London Games were the first in history to be completed without a

single fatality, we set the standard on health and safety at the Olympics.”

The opposition to July summer Olympic Games grew when the national Olympic committees of Brazil, Germany, and Norway all issued statements calling for the Games to be postponed.

At the same time, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and US President Donald Trump both issued statements confirming they were closely monitoring the situation in Tokyo.

The postponement is very costly for the host country, which has spent more than $12 billion on the event, while huge sums are also at stake for sponsors and broadcasters.

Goldman Sachs estimated this month that Japan would lose $4.5 billion in inbound and domestic consumption in 2020 if the Olympics did not take place as planned.

The hysteria surrounding COVID-19, mostly propagated by the media, is so all-encompassing that even the Olympics were postponed. No event has been postponed in the past.”[9]

“Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi, leader of Yemen’s Houthis, has offered to release a Saudi pilot and four officers in exchange for the release of members of the Palestinian Hamas Movement detained in Saudi Arabia.

The Yemeni leader announced the initiative during a speech on March 26 commemorating the country’s 5th “National Day of Resilience.”

“The Saudi regime is trying the Palestinian detainees on charges of supporting a terrorist party, meaning the Mujahedeen,” Abdul-Malik al-Houthi said.

Last year, Saudi authorities arrested dozens of Palestinians on terrorism charges. Many of the detainees were known members of Hamas, like the group’s representative in the kingdom Mohamad Saleh al-Khudari.

The Saudi pilot the Houthis offered to release in exchange for the detainees, is likely one of two who went missing last month after the shot down of a Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) Tornado IDS warplane over Yemen.

The Houthi’s initiative was welcomed by Mahmoud al-Zahar, a prominent leader of the Hamas Movement. In a phone call with al-Mayadeen, al-Zahar said the initiative is “respectable” and considered the Houthis’ offer to be suitable for Saudi Arabia.

“The initiative of the leader of the Ansar Allah movement, Abd al-Malik al-Houthi, rejoiced the hearts of all the Mujahedeen and the Palestinian resistance,” al-Zahar said.

A day earlier, Basim Naim, cochairman of Hamas’ Bureau of International Relations, revealed that talks were underway with Saudi Arabia to release the Saudi

detainees very soon with the help of “mediators.”

The Houthis and Hamas are both close allies of Iran, which explains the motive

behind Abdul-Malik’s offer. Some of the Palestinians detainees in Saudi Arabia may have been involved in pro-Houthi activities.” [10]

Under this bill, average Americans who have been furloughed will be able to receive up to 100% of their salary and their health insurance for four months, for four months. Weekly unemployment benefits will increase by $600. So, if you were laid off, your unemployment benefit will increase by $600 above what it otherwise would have been. And right now the average benefit is about $364 for workers.

Now, also, very importantly, this expansion of unemployment will include part-time workers. It will include gig workers, like those who drive Uber cars. It will include tip workers and the self-employed, who would otherwise not be covered by unemployment insurance. So, in other words, what we’re doing now is, at a time when fewer than half of the American people would normally be covered by unemployment, what this legislation does is it expands it to the overall workforce and, on top of that, for many workers, would provide $600 a week more than they otherwise would have gotten. And that is one of the more important provisions in the bill.

In addition, this bill provides $250 billion to go out in one-time checks of $1,200 for adults and $500 for kids. Now, let me be very honest. As some of you may know, I wanted much more. I wanted every American family to be able to receive $2,000 every single month that we continue to exist within the crisis. So this does not do that. And this is clearly not enough to me, but that is what it is.”[11]

“REP. ILHAN OMAR: So, we know that there are many people who are still being subjected to ICE raids, who are being put in ICE detention. Just a few weeks ago, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, one of my sisters in service, was at an airport due to a tip, where she stopped young children that were being trafficked by an ICE agent, transported from one state to another. And it is really inhumane to see us continue in this process. ICE detention centers are overly crowded. So we’ve called for a halt in deportation. We’ve called for a halt in all immigration court proceedings, because we know that that could be a hot spot for the spread of the virus. We’ve called for a stop in having ICE come into our communities and terrorize people.

We want people to feel comfortable enough to seek medical attention when they need it. The reason sanctuary cities exist is because it allows those that are most vulnerable in our communities to be able to access the services that they need. When you have vulnerable communities hiding, not seeking the service that they need, you put all of us at risk. And so we want people to lead with humanity. We want for there to be a just society. And so, when we’re asking for clemency for those that are ill, that are elderly in our jails and prisons, we’re asking for people to be saved who need to be saved. And so, it is really devastating to know that the “party of life” really devalues human life, regards to class or ethnicity or gender. And that, I think, is the center of the conversation we’re having.

AMY GOODMAN: Congressmember Omar, we had on the former director of ICE, John Sandweg, who is calling for ICE, which has the ultimate authority in this particular case, to release thousands of detainees. How is this being addressed right now?

REP. ILHAN OMAR: It’s not. We’ve put out a letter. My office led a letter to the administration, to the Department of Homeland Security, asking them to do precisely what the former director is calling for. We know that there are so many people who are caught up in this unjust immigration system. Not everybody is the violent murderer that the Republicans talk about. There are so many people who have a right to seek asylum, who have a right to come and look for opportunities to start anew. And we need to give them that opportunity, and we need to protect their life at the moment. And again, like I said, it’s really quite astonishing to see that the “party of life” does not advocate for all human life to be uplifted.”[12]

“AMY GOODMAN: So, Matt Stoller, if you can respond to what Cramer said?

While President Trump stands at the White House podium saying, “We’re spending much more time concerned about small business than big business,” he didn’t say, “We’re spending much more money concerned about small business than big business.”

MATT STOLLER: I don’t think that this is actually — I don’t want to leave this on Trump. Honestly, this is the fault of the Democrats, this is the fault of Nancy Pelosi, it’s the fault of members like Ilhan Omar, who just spoke about this, not paying attention to what’s in the bill. It’s the fault of Bernie Sanders. It’s the fault of Elizabeth Warren. These are the people that had leverage, that had the ability to make an argument about what this bill is. And instead of saying that this bill is a handout to corporate America and a roll-up of power, they decided to stay quiet, let Chuck Schumer organize the whole process, you know, and do some moral grandstanding. And it’s really embarrassing, and it’s really a problem, because they’re lying to the progressive movement, they’re lying to the Democratic Party. And so now we have no debate about what is effectively probably a more significant bill than TARP in 2008.

And all of this stuff that’s happening, the handover of power to Wall Street, is happening under the really cynical guise of helping people in a pandemic. A lot of this money is going to go to — some of the money is going to go to hospitals. Some of the money is going to go to help people in the pandemic. So there’s some good stuff here. That, of course, is going to dribble out on the rickety infrastructure of the Small Business Administration and unemployment insurance. Our government has been hollowed out, so this stuff isn’t going to get out quickly, but — quickly enough.

But I think we really have to take some responsibility as Democrats — I’m a Democrat — as progressives, as conservatives, as Republicans. You know, this is a total system failure. This is a handover of power to Wall Street. And in a month or two or three, people are going to get confused. They’re going to say, “Wait a second. Why isn’t this working? What’s happening?” And like, this is the moment. The moment was this week, when the House and Senate are voting on it. And you have a whole bunch of largely clueless, either stupid, corrupt or cowardly members, who won’t actually look at what’s in the bill, won’t organize, won’t think about it, won’t debate. And so they’ve handed over — you know, I didn’t think that Bernie Sanders was going to hand the country over to big business, but that is effectively what he did. I didn’t think Elizabeth Warren was going to do that, but that is effectively what she did.

MATT STOLLER: Well, yeah, but the Democrats didn’t make an argument about what was in that bill. They said, “Oh, OK, trillions of dollars for Wall Street, sure, we’ll call that pandemic relief,” instead of saying, “That’s trillions of dollars for Wall Street. What we need is immediate pandemic relief.” Instead, they conceded to Mitch McConnell and Steve Mnuchin that giving a trillion, $2 trillion, $3 trillion, $4 trillion to Wall Street was pandemic relief. And that’s just nonsense. And even today they’re not saying what is in this bill. They don’t even know that the bill is $6 trillion versus $2 trillion. I mean, the whole thing is just embarrassing and dishonest. Now, I could see them saying, “Yeah, you know, it is a $6 trillion bill” — I mean, I’ll also say, I have to — you know, we have to get money out to hospitals. We have to get money out to small business. We have to get money out to ordinary people that are suffering right now. It’s a real — we have to do it. And it will happen. If the Democrats had gotten together and blocked this bill, then, you know, Mitch McConnell and Mnuchin and Kevin McCarthy and Trump would have had no choice but to accept any deal that the Democrats put on the table.”[13]

“City officials in Philadelphia have been considering reopening Hahnemann hospital, a centrally located facility that shut down last July, for the purpose of housing patients with severe cases of Covid-19. But Joel Freedman, the real estate vulture who owns the building that used to house Hahnemann hospital, has engaged in what can only be characterized as an extortion campaign aimed at extracting super-profits from the city in their desperation to expand the capacity of Philadelphia’s healthcare system.

As coronavirus spreads rapidly across the United States, with case numbers expected to surge in the coming weeks, the people are faced with a scenario where the healthcare system will reach capacity and find itself incapable of properly treating all patients and containing the virus.

Capitalist demands $5.4 million ransom

After days of negotiation with Hahnemann’s owner, the city has given up on the prospect of acquiring the hospital. The city and state government has so far declined to make use of its eminent domain powers and authority under the state of emergency declaration in this case, and the federal government has likewise refused to step in using the power granted to it under the Defense Production Act. Once again, it has been made clear that private property is fundamentally at odds with public health needs.

Freedman had proposed to the city a 6-month lease for $5.4 million, at $900,000 each month for the 496-bed hospital. This price was demanded despite the fact that Hahnemann is currently an unused building. Though the building has been sitting idle and generating no revenue for the past nine months, Freedman attempted to leverage his control of the property and use this moment of dire public need as an opportunity to extract huge profits from the rental agreement.

Ultimately, this move constitutes an attempt to exploit the plight of the people of Philadelphia, who will suffer considerably from the spread of the virus and require expanded, accessible treatment facilities. These are now being denied due to Freedman’s unwillingness to forego massive profits.

This has set the stage for a truly absurd reality to take shape in Philadelphia. As the most significant viral pandemic in recent history sweeps the region, and the city’s healthcare system approaches and exceeds its capacity to care for new patients, a massive, centrally located hospital will remain empty and unused.

Absurd as it may be, this situation reflects an essential feature of the capitalist system: corporate profits are more important than people’s lives. Ruling class politicians, functioning within a legal framework built to protect corporate interests, refuse to take action even in a time of a public health emergency. Only the people, united and organized, can force them to do what is needed.”[14]

“IPB is calling for a dramatic reduction of military spending in favour of healthcare and meeting social needs!

The world’s oldest peace NGO, the Nobel Prize-winning IPB has called on G20 world leaders who are gathering via virtual means this coming week to send a message of peace and solidarity to the world as they address the global health emergency.

This is a time to open a new page in global relations to put geopolitical tensions to one side, to end proxy wars, for a ceasefire in those many conflicts around the world all of which stand to hamper a global solidarity effort.

We have to lift the shadow of war and military brinkmanship which has blighted global cooperation in recent years and work to ensure that a spirit of peace and solidarity prevails.

We are all paying a heavy price for failed leadership and misplaced market-driven practices that have weakened our means to address this emergency, which has hit the weakest hardest.

Healthcare Stress

We are now seeing the consequences of underinvesting in healthcare infrastructure, hospitals, and staff. All over the world, health systems are reaching the limits of their strength and heroic front-line staff are under massive pressure.

The coronavirus emergency shows what a weakened state our societies find themselves in to protect the people: a world driven by financialization, shareholder value and austerity have weakened our ability to defend the common good and placed human life in danger on a global scale.

Employees fearful of job and income loss are tempted to go to work sick. Older people are vulnerable and need help. The virus hits the weakest hardest.

We can already draw lessons for the future:

Health is a human right for the young and old, for all people in all parts in the world.

Healthcare and nursing care must never be slashed or subordinated in the pursuit of profit through privatization.

The importance of decent work for all healthcare staff and continued investment in their education and training.

Time for a Global Social Contract

We support the efforts of the trade union movement globally, regionally and nationally, in their call for a new social contract. We support their call for economic measures and resources to protect jobs, incomes, public services, and the welfare of people.

This requires a commitment from the business community to keep people in work and the support they are promised to receive from their governments must be conditional on their adhering to the social contract for job security and incomes.

G20: Priority to Disarmament

The world spends 1.8 trillion dollars on military expenditure every year and is scheduled to spend 1 trillion dollars on new nuclear weapons in the next 20 years.

In addition, billions are spent on military research, money which would be better invested in health and human needs and research to help the fight against global climate change. Militarization is the wrong path for the world to take; it fuels tensions and raises the potential for war and conflict and aggravates already heightened nuclear tensions. World leaders must put disarmament and peace back in the center of policy making! Global leaders have to develop a new agenda for disarmament and that includes the banning of nuclear weapons. We call once

again for governments to sign on to the TPNW.

Disarmament is one of the keys to the great transformation of our economies, to ensure that human beings and not profit are most valued; economies in which ecological challenges – above all the crisis of climate change – will be solved and global social justice will be pursued.

With disarmament the implementation of the SDGs, a global social contract, and a new global green peace deal, we can address the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.

That is why we say that an initiative from the G20 to move away from a culture

of militarization towards a culture of peace is both urgent and necessary.”[15]
